SENSORY INTEGRATION AND ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE SENSORY INTEGRATION IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS

The aim of this review was to systematically identify, analyze, and summarize research involving interventions based on sensory integration activities that promote in children with ASD. Based the selection criteria ten out thirty studies were selected described terms of: a) participant characteristics, b) assessments used studies, c) intervention procedures, d) study goals, e) outcomes whether or not there improvement behavior clinical conditions. results analyzed indicate a remarkable heterogeneity profile function ASD, which affect applicability different forms treatment. these we can conclude treatments SI theory reduce stereotypical, aggressive, auto-aggressive, irritable, hyperactive behavior, as well improve self-regulation behavior.
